What Constitutional Reform is NOT All About
It does not mean that foreign (especially multinational) companies will annex parts of our territory, claiming it in the name of their home countries or as themselves.
It does not mean that with those foreign companies taking up Philippine territory, rare flora and fauna in the country will go extinct, many forests will be cleared in hours, mountains will be stripped of its precious metal quickly, nor more pollutants will infest the waters and the sky.
With foreign cooperation, studying and propagating rare flora and fauna (including those which have not yet been discovered) will be much easier.
It does not mean that prices of basic commodities will increase nor that Filipino citizens and nationals are stripped of their right to manage businesses because of the presence of those foreign companies.
Economic Liberalization can lower product prices based on the law of supply and demand.
It does not mean that we will impose a personality cult based on the incumbent heads of state and government.
No, we are not going to bring back the past. We are moving forward.
It does not mean that we will impose policies that will favor one ethnic group or language over others, just like South Africa under apartheid.
We did not have a unified national identity before the Spaniards arrived.
